The Port’s management of the Baie de Beauport is added to that of the Agora, the Cale, the Marina, the Oasis, and the Village Nordik

Québec City, October 29, 2025 – The Port of Québec will be taking over complete management of the Baie de Beauport as of January 2026. Its internal teams already successfully manage other port areas such as the Agora, the Cale, the Oasis, and the Village Nordik. This change will allow the Port to keep up the momentum Gestev has been building since 2008 while better aligning management of the site with its desire to remain close to communities.

Over the past 18 years, Gestev has used its expertise to revitalize the Baie de Beauport by diversifying attractions, making it a true gathering place for families, athletes, culture enthusiasts, and all who love the river. The Port applauds the Gestev team’s incredible work and thanks everyone sincerely for their dedication and professionalism.

The Port of Québec will be continuing to collaborate with Gestev on a number of current and future projects.

The Baie de Beauport is a unique place where the Port and the community meet. By taking over its management, we hope to continue the remarkable work that Gestev began almost 20 years ago and keep embodying the friendliness and openness to the river that makes this site so wonderful.

Olga Farman President and CEO, Port of Québec

It’s with great pride that I look back at the progress Gestev has made at the Baie de Beauport over nearly 20 years. Thanks to our teams’ dedication and a diverse range of attractions and events, this incredible site has become a major drawn for the region. Our Cigale festival, which is returning for its fifth year in 2026, was also born here. We’re confident that the Port of Québec will be able to build on this momentum, and look forward to collaborating on more projects.

About the Port of Québec

The Port of Québec is strategically located 1100 km from the Atlantic Ocean, close to the Great Lakes market. It is the last deepwater port in the St. Lawrence corridor, with a depth of 15 metres. This unique position allows Canadian companies to achieve significant economies of scale in both import and export trade.

With links to more than 40 partners countries, the Port of Québec and its employees handle an average of over 26 million tonnes of goods every year, representing a commercial value of over $15 billion.

The Port is also recognized as the leading cruise port on the St. Lawrence; along with all its partners in Québec’s maritime industry, it contributes to $2 billion in economic spin-offs while supporting some 12,000 jobs nationwide.

The Québec Port Authority (QPA) is ranked 4th out the 17 Canadian port authorities in terms of revenue. While it is economically powerful, it is also known for its contributions to the area’s urban and social fabric thanks to port spaces like l’Agora, L’Oasis, La Cale, la Discoglace, le Village Nordik and la Baie de Beauport.
