PORT OF QUÉBEC STRENGTHENS ITS ROLE IN GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAINS

Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd

This collaboration allows the Port of Québec to diversify its export markets while supporting the local and national economies and emphasizing sustainable practices.

Québec City, Mai 1, 2025 – The Port of Québec welcomes a new strategic partner to its ecosystem: Canadian company Parrish & Heimbecker Ltd (P&H). In collaboration with QSL, already well established in the Port of Québec, P&H acquires assets from Société en commandite Terminal grains (Sollio Agriculture) located at Anse-au-Foulon. This transaction consolidates the Port’s accessibility to international markets and strengthens its strategic position, benefiting both the regional and national economies.

A National-Scale Agri-Food Player

P&H is a family-owned business active in the agri-food industry for over a century. It operates several grain terminals in Ontario and British Columbia. This new location on the St. Lawrence River complements its network, allowing it to benefit from the Port of Québec’s assets: year-round maritime accessibility, complete intermodal connections, high-quality facilities, and the necessary water depth for large ocean-going vessels.

This partnership with P&H is strengthening supply chains for Canadian agricultural exports while supporting a shared vision of sustainable development. Their expertise and commitment to the community will play an important role in helping the Port better integrate into Québec City’s urban fabric.

A Sector Set to Play a Strategic Role

This agreement marks a turning point for the Anse-au-Foulon sector, which is now a strategic link for trade with Europe and other international markets, strengthening the Port’s role in the grain industry and serving the regional and national economy.

P&H is one of the major players in the Canadian agri-food sector. With this transaction, the company is joining the family of Port of Québec’s partners, strengthening its position, and benefiting from direct access to the St. Lawrence River.
