As the world continues to change, the Port is asserting its strategic role in the supply chain, the economy, and the community.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"item block-quote component-block-quote\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"block-quote__container container\">\n\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"block-quote__element\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"block-quote__text wysiwyg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>2025 was a particularly proud year for me. We moved forward on important issues, welcomed new partners, supported major projects for the region, and, above all, launched a pivotal project for the Port\u2019s future: our $1.7M modernization plan. It\u2019s a far-reaching plan that will transform our infrastructure and further cement the Port\u2019s strategic role in the Qu\u00e9bec City, Qu\u00e9bec, and Canadian economies. But beyond the projects, what I\u2019m most proud of is the way we\u2019re moving forward: by engaging and dialoguing with our communities and by keeping in mind that the Port\u2019s development needs to be both responsible and sustainable. This confirms its central role in supply chain operations, even as economic and geopolitical conditions remain turbulent. The increase can largely be attributed to the diversification of markets and sectors, which have helped make the Port more resilient.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-heading js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Capacity-Building Projects to Bolster Competitiveness and Propel the Transition<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The highlight of the year was the launch of the Port\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portquebec.ca\/en\/press-release\/largest-investment-in-its-history-port-of-quebec-launches-plan-to-update-its-port-infrastructures\/\">critical infrastructure modernization plan<\/a>, a major 10-year, $1.7B investment program to solidify the safety, performance, and sustainability of port infrastructure.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port also continued working on its City-Port Vision in 2025, in preparation for its official launch in January of 2026. The Vision is an initiative to better align port development with local realities and expectations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The preparatory work has already translated into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portquebec.ca\/en\/press-release\/the-port-of-quebecs-commitment-to-help-the-city-run-more-smootly\/\">concrete measures for trucking and traffic<\/a>, such as the ones announced with the City of Qu\u00e9bec in May&nbsp;2025. Those measures mainly aim to reduce speed, tighten controls, improve reporting, and better manage trucking activity in sensitive areas.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port also continued with its sustainable development initiatives, which included:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-list js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launching its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portquebec.ca\/en\/press-release\/the-port-of-quebec-takes-a-step-to-promote-greening-and-improve-quality-of-life\/\">2025\u20132035 Greening Plan<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.portquebec.ca\/en\/press-release\/the-port-of-quebec-earns-the-highest-levels-of-green-marine-certification-for-the-seventh-year-in-a-row\/\">Maintaining Level&nbsp;5 Green Marine certification<\/a> for the seventh year in a row<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Both of these initiatives speak to the Port\u2019s clear commitment to aligning economic performance with environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-heading js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Strategic Role in the Supply Chain and the Economy<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port of Qu\u00e9bec also solidified its role as a key link in numerous supply chains throughout the year, strengthened by critical partnerships like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portquebec.ca\/en\/press-release\/port-of-quebec-strengthens-its-role-in-global-supply-chains\/\">the new collaboration with Parrish &amp; Heimbecker Ltd. (P&amp;H)<\/a> in the agri-food sector.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>It also supported major projects for Qu\u00e9bec, such as:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-list js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Construction of the new \u00cele d\u2019Orl\u00e9ans bridge<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advancement of wind power projects in Charlevoix<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port\u2019s financial performance also improved, with operating revenues up 20% from 2024 for a total of more than $75M.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-heading js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Port Rooted in its Community<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Beyond its economic activities, the Port also continued its efforts to become a lively, accessible community space.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-list js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.portquebec.ca\/en\/press-release\/from-the-depths-of-winter-to-the-peak-of-fall-the-port-of-quebec-concludes-its-first-yaer-as-a-four-season-port-of-call-for-cruises\/\">More than 140,000 cruise passengers docked at the Port<\/a>, some aboard the <em>Brilliant Lady<\/em>, Virgin Voyages\u2019 latest ship that visited Qu\u00e9bec City for the first time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Port attractions drew tens of thousands of visitors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Event programming and civic initiatives helped strengthen ties with the community.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More than 50 social, community, and local organizations benefited from the Port\u2019s support in various forms: financial contributions, services, citizen initiative funds, and volunteer work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>In keeping with its desire to better connect with citizens and improve access to the river, the Port also announced in October of 2025 that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portquebec.ca\/en\/press-release\/port-of-quebecs-baie-de-beauport-access-to-the-river-now-free\/\">entry to the Baie de Beauport is now free<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>What\u2019s more, over a quarter of Port property is now devoted to recreation, tourism, and accessible urban spaces for citizens.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port also continued its efforts to improve dialogue with citizens by improving its consultation mechanisms and implementing tools to encourage transparency and collaboration. It is the last deepwater port in the St.&nbsp;Lawrence corridor, with a depth of 15&nbsp;metres. This unique position allows Canadian companies to achieve significant economies of scale in both import and export trade.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>With links to more than 40&nbsp;partner countries, the Port of Qu\u00e9bec and its employees handle an average of over 26&nbsp;million tonnes of goods every year, representing a commercial value of over $15&nbsp;billion.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port is also recognized as the leading cruise port on the St. Lawrence; along with all its partners in Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s maritime industry, it contributes to $2&nbsp;billion in economic spin-offs while supporting some 12,000&nbsp;jobs nationwide.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Qu\u00e9bec Port Authority (QPA) is ranked 4<sup>th<\/sup> out of the 17 Canadian port authorities in terms of revenue.
