The destination\u2019s key players wanted to provide cruise passengers with an inspiring and interactive experience from the moment they arrive at the Port.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>One of the project\u2019s other main goals is to encourage cruise passengers to venture beyond Old Qu\u00e9bec, thus distributing economic benefits more evenly and alleviating pressure on the busiest areas.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>This strategic project was made possible by the financial support and collaboration of several partners.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"item block-quote component-block-quote\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"block-quote__container container\">\n\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"block-quote__element\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"block-quote__text wysiwyg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Wendat Nation is proud of this collaboration, which aligns with the principles of the framework agreement signed with the Port of Qu\u00e9bec last February, founded on respect, diplomacy, and shared responsibility. This multi-sensory showcase, the only one of its kind in the greater Qu\u00e9bec City area, recognizes the important place the Wendat Nation occupies in the tourist experience while providing it with greater exposure. It highlights Qu\u00e9bec City\u2019s many different facets, including:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-list js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The richness of the destination and its surrounding area<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The culture and history of the Wendat Nation, following the framework agreement signed in February by the Port of Qu\u00e9bec and the Nation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The variety of nature and outdoor experiences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The diverse local food scene and specialty food experiences<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The design of this immersive experience was developed by <strong>Stimulation D\u00e9j\u00e0 Vu<\/strong> in collaboration with partners renowned for their expertise in multi-sensory design and the creation of immersive environments. They have combined technology, storytelling, and sensory engagement to create a showcase that captures visitors\u2019 imaginations while paying homage the destination\u2019s identity and richness. The Tourism Innovation Program, managed by the MT Lab and set up with financial backing from the Minist\u00e8re du Tourisme, supported this project.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-heading js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The 2026 Qu\u00e9bec International Cruise Forum: Looking Back and Forward<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>In conjunction with the inauguration, the 2026 Cruise Forum brought industry partners together to review advances in the sector and discuss the destination\u2019s development prospects.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The 2025 cruise season confirmed Qu\u00e9bec City\u2019s strength as a four-season cruise destination. It ran from January\u00a028 to November\u00a02\u2014a first. A total of 135,933\u00a0cruise passengers visited the Port of Qu\u00e9bec. Of these, 52% were embarking or disembarking passengers, spending an average of 17.5\u00a0hours in the city, generating significant spin-offs for the local economy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Forum also provided an opportunity to go over progress on the dockside electrification project, which is a major energy transition initiative and a key part of the sustainable development strategy for the Port of Qu\u00e9bec and the destination as a whole.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>A highlight of the event was a panel discussion with Debbie Holbrook (Princess Cruises) and Robert de Bruin (Holland America Line). The two experts shared their insights into the evolution of North Atlantic cruise itineraries, passenger expectations, and stopover planning trends. This strategic dialogue provided an opportunity to further reflect on ways of making the region more attractive and diversifying stopovers within the international cruise industry.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>Forum discussions also emphasized the need for controlled cruise industry development, the importance of increasing local spin-offs while preserving citizens\u2019 quality of life, the efforts to diversify excursions and encourage exploration of new sectors in the region, and the position of Qu\u00e9bec City as an innovative and responsible cruise destination.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-heading js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Outlook for the 2026 Season<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-list js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The 2026 season will run from April\u00a013 to November\u00a01 and will feature: 100\u00a0stopovers, including 20\u00a0arrival and departure operations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approximately 115,000\u00a0cruise passengers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Four maiden calls, including Explora Journeys\u2019 brand-new <em>EXPLORA\u00a0III<\/em>, set to leave the shipyard this summer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8211; 30 &#8211;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-heading js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the Port of Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port of Qu\u00e9bec is strategically located 1100\u00a0km from the Atlantic Ocean, close to the Great Lakes market. It is the last deepwater port in the St.\u00a0Lawrence corridor, with a depth of 15\u00a0metres. This unique position allows Canadian companies to achieve significant economies of scale in both import and export trade.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>With links to more than 40\u00a0partner countries, the Port of Qu\u00e9bec and its employees handle an average of over 26\u00a0million tonnes of goods every year, representing a commercial value of over $15\u00a0billion.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port is also recognized as the leading cruise port on the St. Lawrence; along with all its partners in Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s maritime industry, it contributes to $2\u00a0billion in economic spin-offs while supporting some 12,000\u00a0jobs nationwide.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Qu\u00e9bec Port Authority (QPA) is ranked 4<sup>th<\/sup> out of the 17\u00a0Canadian port authorities in terms of revenue.
