This is a concrete reflection of the Port&#8217;s desire to give the river back to the people of Qu\u00e9bec City and solidify this exceptional spot, which is already central to the daily lives of so many local residents, as a true public place.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port of Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s Baie de Beauport is a natural playground on the banks of the St. Lawrence river that draws walkers, cyclists, families, and lovers of the great outdoors alike. They come to enjoy the urban beach, to spend time in and on the water, to picnic, or simply to admire the river.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>By making access free of charge, the Port hopes to make this gem in the heart of Beauport district even more accessible and welcoming so that everyone can enjoy the river in the ways they love most. This decision also aligns with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portquebec.ca\/en\/about\/2035-vision\/\">Port of Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s 2035 Vision<\/a>, which aims to optimize land-use planning, provide better access to the river, and bring the Port closer to the community.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<div class=\"item block-quote component-block-quote\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"block-quote__container container\">\n\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"block-quote__element\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"block-quote__text wysiwyg\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Port of Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s Baie de Beauport is a lively, vibrant place that we want to make even more accessible. We hope that with this measure, more people and families will be able to enjoy it freely, whether they&#8217;re on foot, on bikes, or in the water. It is the last deepwater port in the St. Lawrence corridor, with a depth of 15 metres. This unique position allows Canadian compagnies to achieve significant economies of scale in both import and export trade.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>With links to more than 40 partner countries, the Port of Qu\u00e9bec and its employees handle an average of over 26 million tonnes of goods every year, representing a commercial value of over $15 billion.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Port is also recognized as the leading cruise port on the St. Lawrence; along with all its partners in Qu\u00e9bec&#8217;s maritime industry, it contributes to $2 billion in economic spin-offs while supporting some 12,000 jobs nationwide.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"item wysiwyg component-paragraph js-anim js-anim-scroll-top\"  ><div class=\"container\">\n<p>The Qu\u00e9bec Port Authority (QPA) is ranked 4th out of the 17 Canadian port authorities in terms of revenue.
