At the centre of the Port, right in front of the majestic St. Lawrence River, you’ll find the Seamen’s Club at Dock 26.
The Seamen’s Club is a physical space, like a real house, that welcomes all mariners on layover at the Port of Québec. It’s a place to gather, have fun, and talk with other mariners or with loved ones, often using the free Wi-Fi. The Club is run by a team of volunteers who is there to listen and help with any requests the mariners may have. also have a good ear for confidences and various requests from sailors.
The club shares a mission with many other such places that have existed at ports around the world for over a century. The Québec Seamen’s Club has no international affiliations, but works with similar organizations and enjoys their support in return.
The place is open every morning from Monday to Friday and every evening, seven days a week, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Wi-Fi booth is also open 24/7.
You will find a small corner store for basic items and phone cards as well as a clothing counter of new and used items for visiting mariners, who aren’t always equipped for Quebec’s rugged winters.
