Québec City Named Top 3 Destination in the World by Cruise Critic

07/25/2018

Québec City (Québec), July 24, 2018 – Québec City has officially been named one of the Top Three Cruise Destinations in the World and the Top Cruise Destination in the U.S. & Canada in Cruise Critic’s Cruisers’ Choice Awards.

This is the second consecutive year that Québec City has been named the best in the U.S. and Canada. Cruise Critic is the world’s leading cruise review site and online cruise community, with more than five million cruisers visiting the site each month. Held for the eighth consecutive year, the Annual Cruise Critic Cruisers' Choice Awards are given out based exclusively on the ratings and reviews from passengers.

Following a record breaking 2017, where the Port of Québec saw an increase of over 30%, Québec is forecasting another banner cruise year for 2018. With multiple infrastructure and port developments underway, the port is poised to be a year-round cruise destination and point of embarkation and disembarkation for the world’s top cruise brands.

The 2018 Canada cruise season will see record deployment from Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line, as well as inaugural calls to Québec from the following ships: Adventure of the Seas, AIDAvita, Disney Magic, Royal Princess, Sea Princess, Silver Spirit, Silver Wind and Star Pride.

“The Port of Québec is extremely honored to be recognized as one of the top cruise destinations in the world as well as the number one destination in the U.S. and Canada,” says Mario Girard, President and CEO, Port of Québec. “This acknowledgement is a true testament to the unique opportunities we are able to provide passengers who visit our beautiful city.”

Located at the confluence of the St. Charles and St. Lawrence Rivers, Québec is known as the most European city in North America, a designated UNESCO Heritage site, and a highlight of Canada/New England cruises. Multiple lines offer embarkation and debarkation from Québec City as well as overnights, allowing passengers to fully immerse themselves in the city.
