Developed from dedicated spaces at St. Lawrence Stevedoring’s dry bulk terminal, the nickel storage area dedicated to the Vale Inco mining company is the transfer point for ore between Voisey’s Bay in Labrador, where it is mined, and the plants in Sudbury, Ontario and Thompson, Manitoba.  The efficiency of the logistics provided by SLS guarantees that INCO receives peerless service in accordance with the strictest operational and environmental standards.  This range of specific benefits provided by SLS and the QPA has also enabled the Port to enjoy remarkable success in the development of facilities dedicated to dry bulk in recent years.
